Throw the Perfect Pool Party

from Wild About Houston June 20 show
If you have a pool in your backyard, it's probably begging for a pool party, especially with the thermometer heating up.

To throw the perfect pool party, we looked to Party Warehouse to give us some tips.

Set the tone of the party with your invitation. Whether you're throwing a 4th of July pool party or getting the neighborhood together for a cookout, a cute invitation will get the party started.

Don't forget the decorations. If you've set a theme with the invitations, stick with it. For a 4th of July pool party, put up bunting and American flags. Provide guests with red, white and blue leis or festive hats.

Have plenty to eat with guests on hand. Chill out by having food brought in from a caterer or do the grilling yourself. Offer up hot dogs, hamburgers, spicy sausages and grilled veggie patties (can't forget our vegetarian friends!). Mix up fresh summer fruit and make up a batch of cupcakes covered in red, white and blue icing. And don't forget the libations – everything from sodas, juice and water for the kids and red and blue margaritas and white piña coladas for the adults.

Enjoy the sun and summer out by the pool, and don't forget to play it safe!
