- The Children's Museum is going wild for New Year's. This end-of-the-year bash rings in at the stroke of 12 p.m. with a parade and drop of a ball just like they do in Times Square. This year's theme is "Where the Wild Things Are" so make sure to make it to the longest-running New Year's celebration for kids and monster growl when the countdown ends. Learn more at cmhouston.org.
- Discovery Green is making the winter season fun. Over the holidays, lace up your skates and take a lap around the outdoor ice skating rink. - Now out on DVD is "Horton Hears a Who." When Horton the elephant hears a cry for help coming from a speck of dust he decides to help all the little whos that live there. Although Horton receives torment from his neighbors he still stands by his motto that "After all, a person is a person, no matter how small." Watch a preview at hortonmovie.com.
- In theaters on Christmas Day is Disney's new film "Bedtime Stories." This adventure-comedy stars Adam Sandler as a hotel handyman whose life is changed forever when the bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to come true. - And finally playing at the Museum of Fine Arts is "I Still Believe in Tomorrow: A Contemporary Video from Asia." This video features five internationally acclaimed artists from China, Japan and Vietnam that focus on the region's recent urban and cultural explosion. Get show times at mfah.org.

- Get in the holiday spirit with the Christmas Cruises along Buffalo Bayou. This season the Buffalo Bayou Partnership will take you on a 30-minute pontoon boat ride to look at decorations, lights and enjoy cheerful songs. - Starting December 20, the Allegro Ballet is bringing you the classic story of the Nutcracker. Celebrate the season with your family at one of the performances at Westside High School. Tickets are on sale now at allegroballetofhouston.com.
- Santa's Workshop powered by Devon Energy is happening December 12 and 13 at Sam Houston Race Park. Children can take photos with Santa, create arts and crafts and best of all, play in 40,000 pounds of snow. Children get in for free and adults can purchase tickets at heritagesociety.org.
- The Children's Museum wants all Houston kids to be a part of a new block-long picture mosaic exhibit. A Playground for Your Mind is set to open March 14, and it's easy to make your picture a part of it. All you have to do is upload a picture from your home computer or come to the Museum and snap a picture in the brand new photo booth. Learn more at cmhouston.org.
- The Birth of Christianity: A Jewish Story is opening this Friday at the Museum of Natural Science. Explore the cultural, political and personal events that shaped Jerusalem and the surrounding region more than 2,000 years ago. Go to hmns.org for more information on the exhibit.
