Homemade Halloween Costumes

Are you scrambling to find a last minute Halloween costume? Julie Brown gave Carson some of her easy homemade costume tips just in time for the big day!

"You don't always have to have a sewing machine to make an incredible costume," Brown said. If you don't have a sewing machine handy, Brown suggests using a permanent adhesive instead.

Some costume ideas Brown has designed at home include:

  • Using some felt and vinyl to be playing card
  • Buying some overalls or using an older pair, cutting up an old quilt and gluing them on to become Pippy Lockstocking. And don't forget the striped stockings and to braid your hair!
  • Perusing a junk shop or resale store to find costumes perfect for a 60s theme, prom, dead bride or even in Brown's case, Barbie Princess.

So don't fret if you don't have a costume and can't find one at the store. A little imagination (and glue) can go a long way!
