Q: What legal recourse do I have to get money owed to me from relatives that I financed recording equipment for? I have all my receipts indicating billing and ship to. I also made arrangements for them to pay $30 /month, which as of this writing, they are four months delinquent. All they had to pay was for the equipment, no interest I made these purchases on my credit card and absorbed the interest payments myself. At this point, I want payment in full.  Ronald

A: In a general sense, they have an obligation to pay him back, and he has what we would call an equitable lien on whatever the property is. He could take them to small claims court and sue them on that transaction.

Q: How do you represent yourself on getting my driver's license back? My attorney claims this is not part of the DWI? – Allen from Pearland

A: If you get a DWI and your license is suspended or if you refuse to take a breath test, your driver's license will be automatically suspended. You can apply for an occupational driver's license through the district court. That's where you go to court and ask for driving privileges to get back and forth to work.
