Celebrity Interviews

Hunter Pence

from Sports Off Center April 11 show
Hunter Pence is entering his second season with the Houston Astros so he sat down with Craig Roberts to discuss his days as a pro ball player.

On his belief (or lack thereof) in a sophomore slump:
I don’t believe in sophomore slumps. I’m off to a little bit of a slow start, but I’ve done this before. I think I’m a little amped up and my timing gets a little off because I try to do too much. We’re going to come around. I’m going to come around.

On the press:
I like when the critics and the press are up against me. (If) they don’t believe in me, that just gives me a little more fuel for the fire.

On if he’ll be the stolen base leader of the team:
There’s no pool of who will have more stolen bases. Our goal as a team is to get to the playoffs.
