With the Shell Houston Open right around the corner, John Daly is one of the Open’s top draws.
Daly knows that Houston has been good to him but he finds the new Redstone course where the Open takes place this year is “a lot trickier and tougher off the tees.”
“I’ve had good success in Houston,” Daly said. “The fans get rowdy and loud.”
But despite his feelings for Houston and its fans, Daly is a bit pricklier when it comes to the press.
“The media needs to get their facts straight on a lot of things,” said Daly. “I’ve done a lot of bad things that I take full responsibility for. The stuff now, the media doesn’t have their facts right.”
Facts right or not, we do know one thing, Daly will be going out to Redstone to get some business taken care of and do even better than he did several years ago when he played against Vijay Singh.
“When I’m playing good, it’s just an awesome feeling,” Daly said. “This is probably one of my favorite stops.”
