Meet the Host

Todd Freed

Todd FreedTodd Freed is the host and executive producer of the Emmy® Award winning "High School Sports Live" and has been with the show since its premiere in 2000. As a sportscaster in Houston, Todd has reported on the Rockets, Astros and local college teams.

A graduate of the University of Texas where he received his degree in Broadcast Journalism, Todd has won several awards from the Texas Associated Press for Best Sports Reporter and Best Sportscaster. Todd was the recipient of the Greater Houston Football Coaches Association's Distinguished Service Award in 2002 and has served on the committee to select the annual George H.W. Bush / Kiwanis Sports Hero Award. He is also a frequent guest speaker at greater Houston high school events.

In 2007, Todd received the Lone Star Emmy Award as Host/Producer of High School Sports Live, which was named "The Best Sports Program" in Texas. In addition, Todd has received multiple Emmy nominations as Host/Producer of High School Sports Live.
