K.C. Nlemchi

from High School Sports Live December 5 show
As the Cinco Ranch Cougars ran over their opponent to earn a berth to the Regional Finals, running back K.C. Nlemchi was running circles around the field, rushing for 241 yards and three touchdowns earning him the honor of Athlete of the Week.

Elkins Knight Jordan Jolly has a knack for coming up with big plays time and time again, and the game against Travis was no exception. The Knights needed a win to get into the playoffs, and Jolly set the tone by blasting a 92-yard run for a touchdown in the first quarter.

This week's Athlete of the Week is none other than the nation's top high school baseball pitching prospect, Matthew Purke. Pitching for Klein High School, Purke pitched the team to a 12-0 victory over Tomball. And as if that wasn't enough, he hit a pair of three-run homers to go with his 14 strikeouts in a five-inning no-hitter.

John Huttenhoff

The Katy Tigers have had a great year. First their football team brought home the state title and now the boys soccer team has earned their first-ever berth to the 5A State Soccer Tournament. Much thanks goes to goal keeper John Huttenhoff, who guarded the goal against the Westside Wolves and shut them out through regulation and two overtime periods.

Daniel Mengden

from High School Sports Live April 4 show
Daniel Mengden, a sophomore pitcher for the Westside Wolves, had one of the best games of his life against one of the best teams in Texas. The Wolves faced the No. 1 team in Texas, the Bellaire Cardinals, and handed them their first loss with a 5-2 win, allowing them to jump to the top of the district 20-5A race.

Erik Williams, a senior player for the Cy Woods Wildcats, is one of the top players in the greater Houston area and the Class 5A scoring leader, averaging 23 points a game. But what put him over the top to be our Athlete of the Week was his performance in the game against Langham Creek. He scored 26 points, had 16 rebounds and to cap it off, blocked 17 shots.

Strake Jesuit has been perfect this season with a 29-0 record. And Joey Brooks has been a significant contributor to the team's success. He seemed nearly flawless as he scored 33 points against Elsik.

The Wheatley Wildcats have been on a roll this season with a 21-3 record and an average of 84 points scored per game, making them the second best in all of Houston. Among the players contributing to their success is senior Aaron-Mike Davis, the leading scorer in the greater Houston area with 25 points per game.
