1. How can I contact Houston's Channel 55 hosts?

Houston’s Channel 55 do not release the addresses or phone numbers of our hosts. You may contact each show through their online forms:

2. Can one of Houston's Channel 55 hosts speak at my organization's event?

Depending on their schedule, one of the Houston’s Channel 55 TV hosts may be available to speak at your organization’s event. If you would like to request a guest appearance at a special event by one of our station’s hosts, we encourage you to place your request at least three weeks in advance of the event by filling out the speaker request form with the required information. Someone will respond to your request in a timely manner.

4. How can I find out whether a show will air again?

You can find information about upcoming shows by clicking on the Schedule link in the top navigation. Here you’ll find times of when shows air, as well as information about each program.

5. Why did you change your air schedule?

Houston’s Channel 55 changes its schedule periodically throughout the year. From time to time, we premiere new shows or repeat shows that our viewers love. Because of this, we may need to move a few of the shows  to different time periods, allowing us to create blocks of TV time that we think our viewers will like. Programming changes are thought out carefully, and we do our best to keep the schedule as consistent as possible. If you have an additional programming question, please contact our programming department.

6. Are all of the programs on Houston's Channel 55 closed-captioned?

We are committed to our hearing-impaired audience and we do our best to comply with FCC guidelines. With that in mind, all of Houston’s Channel 55 programming will eventually be closed-captioned. A large portion of our programming library is already captioned, and the process to add this feature to all of our shows is an ongoing priority.

7. May I submit program ideas to Houston's Channel 55?

Houston's Channel 55 is always open to receiving viewer feedback and program ideas. If you have a program idea or would like to recommend someone to be featured in an upcoming segment on one of our shows, please e-mail us.

8. How do I get an event listed on the Community Calendar?

It is free to have an event listed on our Community Calendar; however, due to limited resources and time, not every event will be posted. We will do our best to post each event that we receive a request for. Events must be open to the community and not a select audience and placement must be requested at least three weeks in advance of the event. If you would like to submit an event for consideration to be listed, please e-mail webmaster@ktbu.tv.

12. I am a DirecTV customer, and I do not see Houston's Channel 55? How can I receive your channel?

DirecTV has unilaterally removed Houston's Channel 55 from its lineup at this time.

We need your help to ensure Houston's Channel 55 gets back on DirecTV. You can help by clicking here to e-mail DirecTV through their website.

Another way you may help is to send a letter to the FCC stating that DirecTV has removed Houston's Channel 55 from its lineup despite it being a must-carry station. You can e-mail them at fccinfo@fcc.gov or call them at 1-888-CALL-FCC.

You may also send a letter to Mayor Bill White's office at mayor@cityofhouston.net, along with your local city council members, to let them know that you want Houston's Channel 55 back on DirecTV. To find out who your representative is in the City of Houston and how to contact them, click here.

In the meantime, in order to see Channel 55's great fall line-up, including live, local high school football and SEC and Southland Conference football, please note that Houston's Channel 55 is available Over the Air and on services such as DISH Network, AT&T Uverse, Comcast and other cable carriers.

13. Your station is not channel 55 on my TV. How do I know what channel position you are?

With most cable companies, Houston's Channel 55 can be found on channel position 55; however, in some cases we are located on a different channel. For a full listing of our cable channel positions, click here.
